Welcome to Ms. Pate's Technology Portfolio!


Hello and welcome to my Integrated Educational and Technology Wiki! My name is Emily Pate and I currently teach Chemistry to 10th through 12th grade students in Madison County, Alabama. This is my first year as a secondary science teacher and I love it!

I graduated in 2007 from Samford University with a Bachelor's degree. I majored in Biochemistry and minored in Journalism and Mass Communications. I have spent the last 7 years working in the corporate world as a research scientist, technical writer, and the online marketing content coordinator.

I have always loved the field of education, but as someone raised in a family of three generations of public school teachers, I also understood all the ups and downs that came with a career in education. Even my best efforts to pursue a career outside of education were not enough to keep me away. In the Fall of 2013, I enrolled at the University of West Alabama where I am currently in the Alternative A Certification / Masters of Education Program.

While I am very aware that teaching is not an easy line of work, I believe that this is my calling. Please take a look through this portfolio and leave any feedback or comments you think would be beneficial. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy!
